Some of you might be wondering what happened to the Balticon 46 Wrap-up Part 11 episode that posted on Monday morning and disappeared on Monday evening. That episode was the only surviving recording from the live audio drama presentation of Episode 4 of Stargazers. For anyone who isn’t familiar with Stargazers, the story was created by Laura Nicole under the name Laura Frechette, and was written by Laura Nicole and Gwendolyn Jensen-Woodard and produced as a podcast for GypsyAudio.org. And for everyone who IS familiar with Stargazers, I could have used your help last week. You see, I made a mistake… [click to continue…]

Once again, it is #FlashbackFriday, and time for another journey with the Wayback Machine. Today we’ve got audio from May 15th, 2011. To wit, episode 35 of Galley Table, featuring guests JR Murdock and Michell Plested. You see, writers are a superstitious and cowardly lot, and they construct various rituals and superstitions to fend off bad writing mojo, or to get themselves into the mood for writing. In this episode, we ask the panel what their rituals are, and how they feel these traditions have effected their writing.

This #FlashbackFriday, the Wayback Machine takes us to May 11th, 2011 and another installment of The Shrinking Man Project. In this episode I am getting back to my diet and exercise program after having a blood clot removed in April. And dealing with the pre-Balticon excitement.
The promo for this episode was J. Daniel Sawyer’s Free Will and Other Compulsions. The podcast was in progress two years ago, but soon fizzled while Dan focused on finishing writing the book. Now, the podcast is back in production as Dan looks into finishing off the Antithesis Progression. Hopefully we’ll be hearing new episodes soon.

Welcome to episode 10 of the Balticon 46 wrap up! Today, we’re going to talk about beer! Specifically, how you can make your own beer in the comfort of your own home. With a little effort and patience, you may be able to make better beer than you can buy in stores for much less. Hosting this panel are John Taylor Williams and Thomas Gideon of the Libation Liberation Front, formerly known as the Living Proof Brew Cast. Filling out our panel of homebrewers are Scott Roche, of Scott Roche’s Omniverse, and myself. If you’ve ever considered making your own beer, this episode will give you a lot of tips on where to get started. There is a TON of information in this episode and it comes fast and furious. You may want to listen to it more than once.

Finally getting the chance to get the Wayback Machine going again for this week’s #FlashbackFriday. I hope that I’ll be able to keep this up for a while. Today’s jaunt into the past takes us back to May 6th of 2011, a date when Philosophy returned to the Shrinking Man Project. This is one of the most important Philosophy episodes I’ve ever done on The Shrinking Man Project, as it addresses all the pain and anguish that people put themselves through for the sake of a number on a scale. If you’ve ever found yourself fretting over the fact that you’re starving yourself and your clothes are falling off of your body, but the damned scale won’t budge! Well, this would probably be a good episode for you to listen to.
This episode also features a promo from Neil Colquhoun for his story Words from Walter. Walter is an undead hitman in Neil’s bizarre wold of supernatural Noir. If you like Noir, or horror, you’ll probably want to check this story out if you haven’t done so already.
With luck, you’ll see more from me next week ,and see another #FlashbackFriday episode next week. For now, enjoy the podcast! Talk to you later.

Time once again for another episode in the Balticon 46 wrap up. This episode is a recording from the panel WordPress 101. Terri “Flynnstress” Vernon moderates the panel featuring Chooch Schubert from the band Ditched by Kate, Gary Lester from Channel 37, and yours truly. In this panel we talk about WordPress, why we use it, and how it can help you manage your online content. WordPress is a very powerful tool, made more powerful by the many plug-ins that expand its capabilities.

Time once again for something from the Wayback Machine. I’m actually going to try to make this a regular #FlashbackFriday event. We’ll just have to see how successful I am at keeping things scheduled.
Anywho, This Friday we are turning the clock back to May 5, 2011 to revisit an all crew episode of The Galley Table. In episode thirty-five, we’re talking about gods and their place in your story. We talk about some of our favorite deific figures in stories and how they are effectively, and non-effectively used. No matter your personal faith, we still feel that there is a place for god-like figures in literature.

Halfway there! Yes, that’s right! This episode marks the halfway point of the Balticon 46 wrap up. This is another Special Episode of my podcast The Shrinking Man Project. This time it’s The Shrinking Man Project Live! with special guests, Veronica Giguere, Starla Huchton, Justin Macumber, and substituting for Tee Morris, Lauren “Scribe” Harris. This started as a revisiting of The Shrinking Man Project Live from Balticon 45, but ended up a little more like an episode of The Fit-2-Write podcast, a podcast that Lauren, Justin, and Tee started to talk about their own weight loss challenges. The topic for this panel was Inspiration, both for creative endeavors such as writing, and for starting and keeping with your weight loss program. We didn’t have a huge audience this year, but I think we had some really good discussion.

Time for the next installment of the Balticon 46 wrap up. If you’ve been with us since the beginning of the Balticon 46 Wrap-up, you’ll remember the video we started out with, where I was getting ready for a panel. Well, this is that panel: Just Dandy: The Importance of Accessories in Steampunk. This was a very different panel for me, as it was a part of the Costuming panel at Balticon. How did I get on a costuming Panel? Shooting my mouth off on Twitter. Pavlina, last year’s head of the Costuming track, was asking for ideas for ideas for panels. I tweeted the title for this panel, and Pavlina jumped on it. Sensing that I had gotten myself in over my head, I demurred that I would only do it if Jared Axelrod, that modern epitome of Dandism, was part of the panel. Jared instantly replied, “I’m there.”
I thought it was going to be just Jared and I giving a talk on the subject, but it turned into a panel discussion, for which I was grateful. The Panel consisted of Elektra Hammond, Janine K. Spendlove, Jared Axelrod, Rebecca K. Davis, and myself. The panel and the audience were both beautifully attired. I know someone took video, but I don’t have access to it. However, Nuchtchas was kind enough to allow me to post some pictures that she took during the panel.
