This post is the result of this tweet from Morgan Hazelwood. Morgan does a lot of writer outreach on Twitter. This week, she asked writers to “Share a happy writer moment that keeps you going when the writing gets tough.” I considered for a while, but the one story that kept coming to mind was an event that I think of as “The Grig Story”. It was a bit long for putting into Twitter, so I decided it would be better to publish it here, and link as needed.

I haven’t had a lot of time to update this blog of late. For that, I apologize. But the good news is that I haven’t been goofing off. I’ve been writing and publishing, and very soon now, that work will bear fruit. So what have I been working on? Well, I’ve been putting together a collection of six Steampunk short stories. And for #WriterWednesday, I’m going to give you a sneak peek at the beautiful Designed By Starla cover! [click to continue…]

So, I’ve been out of touch for a bit. A number of things have happened since my last post. Balticon 51 was a success. I somehow managed to sprain the meniscus in my knee stepping out of a doorway and I’m still trying to recover my full mobility. And I had a book signing. [click to continue…]

The time is almost upon us! Yes, Balticon! And if you’d like to find me at Balticon, here is where you can look. I will be quite busy this year, with 7 panels, plus a reading, a book launch, and an autograph session! I will also be in the Dealer’s room this year, as part of  a co-op of writers. If you don’t find me there, you should be able to find my book, The Perils of Prague. As for the rest of the convention… [click to continue…]

As I said in my previous Release Day post, we found a few typos in the paperback version of the book, so we had to delay it a few days. (For those of you who bought the Kindle version and downloaded it right away, be sure to get the updated download to correct those typos.)

Anywho… the paperback has been blessed and is now available for order!

It will take 3-5 days for the book to trickle through the process and make it to Amazon, but you don’t need to wait if you don’t want to. You can order it today from the CreateSpace store for $12.95, plus shipping and handling. If you’re an Amazon Prime member, you might want to wait for the book to trickle through.

Your choice.

If you want a signed copy, right now your best bet is to buy one from me at Balticon this Memorial Day Weekend. I will have some books with me, and I will be selling them with some fellow authors at a table in the dealer’s room.

Release day!

Yes, release day is finally here! If you’ve pre-ordered the Kindle version, check your devices. You should now be able to download and begin reading. For those of you who decided to wait for the paperback version, I’m afraid you’re going to have to wait just a little longer. I’m afraid we discovered a couple typos in the proof version of the paperback and we need a day or two to correct them. I’ll have more details as soon as they develop.

If you want the Kindle version, what are you waiting for? It is available at the low introductory price of only $2.99, so buy now, as the price will eventually go up to the standard $4.99 price. I’ll make it easy for you. Just click here to go to the Amazon page, and buy it.

And once you’ve bought your copy and read it, please post a review on Amazon or Goodreads. Reviews help place the book, and help other readers find it.

I’m so excited for this. I hope everyone enjoys the book.

Last week’s cover reveal went so well, I thought I’d do another one. Unfortunately, I don’t write fast enough to get another book ready for a cover reveal in a week. Lucky for me, Lauren was able to help me out by having a book ready to reveal. And I’m going to help her out by revealing the cover of her book! [click to continue…]

At long last, the day is here. You really don’t know how long I’ve been waiting to do this. It has been six years getting this book ready. I’ve been sitting on this beautiful Scott Pond cover for a year. I’m so thrilled to let everyone see it. But that isn’t all I have in store for you today. [click to continue…]

As you can see, I’m still having some technical difficulties with my site’s images. I’ve had a few issues from hackers who’ve been playing with site privileges without asking for permission, but I think I’ve managed to repair most of the damage. Unfortunately this little issue with images under WordPress Multi-site is still thwarting me. But that’s not why I’m posting today… [click to continue…]

Things have been awfully busy and confused at Swimming Cat Studios of late. Yes, the Cat was confused. (extra points if you get that reference!) But today, we’re very happy to be part of a new cover reveal by author Lauren Harris. Today Lauren is revealing the cover of her new book in her Millroad Academy Exorcists series. Some of you may remember the review I posted for the first book in the series, Exorcising Aaron Nguyen. Well, in anticipation of the release of the new book in the series, Lauren is letting folks see the new cover, designed by Starla Huchton.  [click to continue…]
