My on-mic podcast debut was a crossover series I did with Tee Morris for his Bird House Rules podcast, an ongoing podcast about Twitter and how to get the most out of it. We actually met and recorded audio twice before this, but life got in the way and the audio got to be “stale” before Tee could get it edited. This show came from the third attempt, and it marked the beginning of a six part series.

I will eventually add the other parts of the series to this feed, but I recommend that you check out the other episodes of Bird House Rules.

My podcasting debut happened back in July of 2010, with a writing credit. On July 17th, the Every Photo Tells… podcast dropped their 24th episode, featuring a story I wrote entitled The Gift. It is the story of an old woman visiting her first love, despite her husband of over 20 years. Or is it? I guess you’ll just have to listen and find out…
If you like this story, please go to the Every Photo Tells… site and sample some of the other stories. Or better yet, go to Podiobooks.com and subscribe to the Volume 1 collection of stories from the podcast.

This morning I dropped Episode 0 of my new podcast, The Shrinking Man Project. The official launch date for the podcast is December 19th, this episode is just an introduction to let folks know about what they should expect from the podcast.
From the show notes:
Please join me as I continue my weight loss journey. I’ve lost over 100 pounds in the past year, and I’m not done yet. Follow along as I share my observations on the ideas and attitudes that lead to successful weight loss, and the ways we set ourselves up to fail.
While the focus of The Shrinking Man Project is weight loss, many of these ideas can be applied to any kind of life change. Episodes will post weekly. Part of the podcast will be these bits of philosophy. In addition, each week I will check in with my listeners for my weekly weigh in, and a review of how I have been coping with the past week.
Please feel free to contact me at Doc@TheShrinkingManProject.com and share your challenges and sucesses. Part of the aim of this podcast is to build a community and support each other and share ideas.
The Shrinking Man Project is a Swimming Cat Studios production. For more information, go to http://theshrinkingmanproject.com. Some sound effects provided by The Freesound Project.

This is my first podcast, and I am learning things in the fine Swimming Cat tradition, but I hope you’ll give it a listen and pass it on to your friends.

If you haven’t heard of Pip Ballantine and Tee Morris‘ Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences novel Phoenix Rising, you’ve been missing out! If you have heard of it, you probably noticed this post, where Tee reveals to the world the cover of Phoenix Rising, which is due out in May of 2011 from Harper Voyager. I’m sure Pip has a similar article on her website, but unfortunately, it is blocked from where I am at the moment.
I’ve been waiting eagerly for this book to come out, having heard bits and pieces of it from Tee and Pip (Tease!). Everything I’ve heard indicates that this will be a great book. If you want to learn more about the book and the series, check out the Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences website.
Make plans to buy this book in May! (Why can’t I just skip ahead to Balticon 45?)

Swimming Cat Studios is proud to open its doors! Metaphorically speaking, that is. This site is the parent organization for my various web projects. Why Swimming Cat Studios? Because I’m learning this all the same way the cat learned to swim: by jumping right in.
Currently, there are three sites under the Swimming Cat Studios banner.
This feed will also contain occasional links to my appearances in other online projects. Once this site is fully up to speed, it will contain links to everything that I am doing online.
