It’s #FlashbackFriday! It is isn’t it? Yes, yes it is! And it is time for another episode from The Wayback Machine! We’re turning the clock back to June 3rd, 2011 and an episode of The Shrinking Man Project. The plan for this episode was to feature the live recording of The Shrinking Man Project, but the recording suffered a couple of power failures, so this is a regular episode of the podcast featuring audio recorded on Monday afternoon at Balticon 45. You can hear in the audio that all of our voices were very hoarse for talking all weekend long. Our topic for Balticon was Exercise and Creativity.
Thanks again to everyone who came out to the live show.
Enjoy the show. See you next time!

Oops! Looks like somehow I overshot #FlashbackFriday. So instead we’ve got um… uh… #MasterFeedMonday? Yeah. Something like that.
So, anyway. Today the Wayback Machine takes us to May 27th, 2011, and the last episode of The Shrinking Man Project before Balticon 45. This episode was actually released right before Balticon began and includes a run-down of my Balticon preparations, and a review of my Balticon 45 panel schedule.
The promo for this episode is The Seekrit Projeckt podcast, bringing great projects out of obscurity.
Enjoy the show. See you next time!

Some people fear birthdays. They hide them. They deny them.
Not me.
For me, a birthday is a victory celebration! Another year to stride upon this Earth, win battles, and fight off death for another day. In the end to plunge my banner into the heart of another year and cry to the heavens that this year will not defeat me! I have taken on all that it had to dish out and I remain standing! Victorious!
But not everyone sees it like that.

This year I have been fortunate enough to be invited as a panelist to Balticon 45. This is my first time being a panelist at a con, and I’m really looking forward to it. I also want to make sure I do my fair share of making the con an entertaining and enlightening experience for everyone (so they’ll invite me back…). I’ve submitted a number of ideas for Panels that I might be able to participate in, or even lead.
But as I’ve remarked elsewhere, sometimes an author (or podcaster) is too close to his own materiel to be able to see what others find interesting… So I’m asking you. If you’re reading this, you’re following one of my projects, either my tech blog, The Nifty Tech Blog, or my podcast, The Shrinking Man Project, or maybe you like some of the short stories I’ve written for Every Photo Tells…, or perhaps heard my appearances on Galley Table. At the very least, you’re someone who is aware of me and some of the things I’ve done.
So I’m asking you to pitch me ideas. Given my background with tech, social media, podcasting, story-telling, writing, and such, what kind of panels would you be interested in seeing me in participating? If you’re going to Balticon 45 (even if it is only in your imagination), what would you like to see me doing, or hear me talking about as part of a panel?
Feel free to comment at whatever length. I want to hear what you’ve got in mind.
