Yes, release day is finally here! If you’ve pre-ordered the Kindle version, check your devices. You should now be able to download and begin reading. For those of you who decided to wait for the paperback version, I’m afraid you’re going to have to wait just a little longer. I’m afraid we discovered a couple typos in the proof version of the paperback and we need a day or two to correct them. I’ll have more details as soon as they develop.

Last week’s cover reveal went so well, I thought I’d do another one. Unfortunately, I don’t write fast enough to get another book ready for a cover reveal in a week. Lucky for me, Lauren was able to help me out by having a book ready to reveal. And I’m going to help her out by revealing the cover of her book!

At long last, the day is here. You really don’t know how long I’ve been waiting to do this. It has been six years getting this book ready. I’ve been sitting on this beautiful Scott Pond cover for a year. I’m so thrilled to let everyone see it. But that isn’t all I have in store for you today.

As you can see, I’m still having some technical difficulties with my site’s images. I’ve had a few issues from hackers who’ve been playing with site privileges without asking for permission, but I think I’ve managed to repair most of the damage. Unfortunately this little issue with images under WordPress Multi-site is still thwarting me. But that’s not why I’m posting today…

Things have been awfully busy and confused at Swimming Cat Studios of late. Yes, the Cat was confused. (extra points if you get that reference!) But today, we’re very happy to be part of a new cover reveal by author Lauren Harris. Today Lauren is revealing the cover of her new book in her Millroad Academy Exorcists series. Some of you may remember the review I posted for the first book in the series, Exorcising Aaron Nguyen. Well, in anticipation of the release of the new book in the series, Lauren is letting folks see the new cover, designed by Starla Huchton.

Been busy lately. A lot of that was writing. Back at the end of November, I decided that I needed to buckle down and get moving forward on getting Perils ready for publication. I had worked on revisions based on my editor’s notes for a while, but I never got any traction because I still had some outstanding questions. As November came to a close, I realized that it was a prescription for procrastination. So, it was time to get something done.

Well, it is that time of year again. November is just around the corner, and with November, there comes NaNoWriMo, National Novel Writing Month. For the uninitiated, this is a time where people all over attempt to write the first draft of a 50,000 word novel in 30 days. It’s a pretty daunting task. It requires dedication, consistency, and no tolerance for distractions. I’ve done NaNoWriMo the last three years. Should I do it again this year?

I’ve tried to keep these #WriterWednesday posts going fairly regularly, but I have to admit that it has been a while since I last sat down and wrote. I’m not talking about writing a blog post, but actually crafting fiction. It is past time to get back on the writing trail. I’ve had notes from my editor for Perils, but I have not been able to take the time to talk to her about them and make sure that I understand everything she’s saying. Every time I try, something in life jumps up and gets in the way. I need to find a way forward that doesn’t depend on consulting my editor first. I think I’ve found one…

I have been tagged in a Blog Hop interview about my writing process.  I was tagged by my former Galley Table cohort, Jeff Hite. This is part of a blog hop meme that has been bouncing around for a while. If you’re interested in who’s been tagged, feel free to follow the link to Jeff’s site and follow the trail backwards. There are quite a number of interesting writers back along the trail.

If you read the last post, you may have noted that I mentioned the publication of my story as part of the Way of the Gun Anthology. Yup, last friday the e-book edition of The Way of the Gun: A Bushido Western Anthology went live on Amazon and PayHip. And yesterday, I got to see some interesting things happening with the e-book edition. Oddly enough, it all started with PC Haring…
