Welcome back, for more from the Balticon 47 Wrap up! This week we are diving right into the action with episode 92 of Galley Table recorded live at Balticon on Sunday at 1 PM. If you’re a regular Galley Table listener, you’ve already heard this episode. If not, you may want to check out Galley Table for more fun, geeky discussion of writing, publishing and other geeky stuff.
They say that no one ever expects the Spanish Inquisition, but the truth is, no ever really expects Jeff Hite to mutiny on the episodes when he’s in charge! But that’s exactly what happened at Balticon! We had invited authors Scott Sigler and Abigail Hilton to join us for a Galley Table discussion on endings, and instead, Jeff hijacks his own show and turns it into a story brainstorming session. And what a session that turned out to be! In addition to Jeff as moderator, and our guest authors, regular Galley Table crew Laura Nicole and Doc Coleman rounded out the panel for this episode.
The story prompt Jeff gave us was:
You are a low ranking person on a what is supposed to be a legitimate merchant ship, and you find out that the blood thirsty captain is dealing in something rather nasty.
This started out as a pretty run of the mill brainstorming session, until Scott and Abby decided to merge their stories together into a single narrative. This Galley Table is certainly one for the record books.
Please listen to the very end, as there is a very special announcement about Galley Table and Flying Island Press.
